Hair color: Getting to the root of it with my Colorist April Thorsten at James Kendall Salon in Beverly Hills

Next step: Hair Color and Root Therapy!

Silver Threads…
Many of you comment on the color of my hair and I just love the question, “Is it natural?”
LOL:-) well yes, I am a redhead but just how red…“Only my hairdresser knows for sure.”

I am dedicated to having shiny red hair and of course, let’s be honest… I have grays too. I think I started pulling silver threads from my hair back in Paris when I was still only in my late 20′s! Anyway, that said, I thought I would share some of my hair secrets with you too.

The color I use is a professional salon brand, Loreal Majirel. The recipe mix is of 3 shades af brown and red. Even though it is not in my budget to visit my colorist every few weeks, I still stay loyal to my Loreal brand by having it shipped to me in bulk from Rays Beauty Supply in New York City. This way I can fill in the gaps and go in to see my beauty team to give me what I call the high maintenance package.
Hair- Skin- Nails- Brows- you get the idea.

Root Therapy:
My colorist April warns use permanent color on your roots only! NEVER pull it through to the ends, as this drys the hair out causing damage over time. Also you will see as your hair grows out some parts will be darker than other parts- causing a stipe effect. Not pretty or healthy.

DIME STORE BRANDS or Over the Counter Colors
Store colors have metallic salts causing them to be more drying to hair. Also if you use those in between professional salon visits they may cause a reaction with the professional color dyes.
