Mother’s Day and the Virtues of Motherhood!

The month of May celebrates motherhood in every way.

LA Yoga Magazine Lorelei Shellist Article Preview "Yoga and the Inner Mom"As Mother’s Day approaches I am reflecting on the diversity of motherhood today.  How can we be good mothers if we don’t learn to mother ourselves? If you have ever been on a plane you’ll recall the admonition from the flight attendant to “put on your own oxygen mask before helping those around you.” It’s ok to put yourself first. In fact, it is mandatory.

In order to nurture others, we must first learn to nurture ourselves.

How do we do that? In my article for LA Yoga, I encourage you to be the best mom you can be to yourself by sharing my own experiences with the mother in me.

Blessings to Mothers everywhere!

Drawing from her own experiences as a runaway teen who followed her dream to travel the world and become an international couture model. A graduate of the Masters Program in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica, her appeal crosses many demographics and is particularly appealing to the baby boomer generation who have grown up inundated with confusing and contradictory mass media messages.
