Hello Fashion Icon on the Run :-) Here’s what’s coming your way!

IMG_3717 Summer is coming to a close and it’s time to change out our wardrobes from spaghetti strap tanks and tops, to more fluid and conservative blouses and shirts. Still it’s too hot! With the controversial idea of global warming as a game changer, how do we predict the weather anymore? Impossible! That’s why my intention is to assist you all in dressing for your-selves… and no one else…not even the weather man!

Discovering who you are, and why you wear what you wear, is major league important to making the process of dressing and undressing – packing and unpacking, more fashionable and a lot more fun.

Let’s start with the basics. In these next few weeks I will share with you my own personal tricks of the trade…from a gal who’s lived out of a suitcase forever! I will help you get through your entire day-to-night with a Travel Tote bag filled with everything you could possibly need to be prepared for anything 🙂 I will start with the sharing all my travel size essential “must-haves” for hair, skin, nails, and more. I keep my tote in the trunk of my car just in case I need to runaway at a moments notice.

In the weeks to follow, we will work with your wardrobe, your closets, and your own fashion icon personalities. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure of fashion and fun.

This is your sneak peek preview into what lies ahead in Runway RunAway Travel Tote Tips for the Fashion Icon On the Run!

  1. This is exciting news!!! Can’t wait to learn about the Fashion Icon Secrets today from Lorelei Shellist

  2. Congratulations on your new site. You have done an amazing job. I wanted to ask for your opinion and expertise: I wear a lot of black to my office. Do you think I should wear more accessories and colored heels to dress it up more and change it a little?

    • Carla, your black is business and your colors are pleasure. It is ok to mix the two, as long as you work in an environment that supports creative dressing. Perhaps if you work in a courtroom your color palette would be more subdued, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t throw in a little spice to your outfit. I like tonal colors…so for example if you wear a black suit, and you add in a gem color, like ruby, and then match it with ruby slippers, ruby lips, maybe ruby or garnet earrings …it adds color, it is tasteful and creative too.

      • Thank you Lorelei. Great advice. I need to go through my scarf drawers and find those colors. Sometimes I forget that I have them and bypass them everyday. 🙂

  3. Just wanted to drop in and say, Hi! And congratulations on the site. I know it will do well.

  4. Lorelei,
First of all, thank you for inviting me to your website launch today.
I wanted to ask if you have an all time favorite song of Def Leppard?

    • HI John, Thanks for asking…of course it’s the one he wrote when we were in a fight, after the fight he sent e a few dozen red roses and caught a plane to Paris… when he walked in the door he handed me a cassette…(ok so this was a long time ago) the cassette was the first recording sessions of “Love Bites”, with Mutt Lange, Steve and Phil singing the tracks. So of course, that song is very close to my heart and the guitar solo is heart-wrenchingy beautiful. So was he, and so are you.

  5. First and Foremost your new website is way cool!
I had one question? Did you pick the very
cool clothes out for Steve “Steamin” Clark
during the Hysteria Tour? Stage Clothes that is??
He always looked so damn cool!

    • Hi Robin,
Thank you for stopping in. Yes, I did pick the very cool clothes Steve wore on the Hysteria Tour. But not only did I pick them, I designed them. It happened be default, at first I introduced him to a friend of mine who was a designer. She made a few pieces for him…but in the end he wasn’t really keen on them. I still have them in a steamer trunk somewhere. After that, Steve told me what he liked and how he envisioned himself, we just brainstormed together and I shopped the garment district in NYC for novelty items and ideas, picking up accessories like those international country flags you saw on the white jacket he wore. Steve bought me a Singer Sewing machine and “Voila!” I became a designer and a seamstress. LOL

  6. Hi Lorelei, I have a question about fashion. When one is has an hour glass figure with too much sand at the bottom, how would you recommend that one dresses to show to top yet hide the bottom ?

    • Monica, Just learned how to reply to this one! Sorry for the delay!
I think if you have a sandy bottom its best to stay on the beach:-) Jump in the water and swim it off! LOL
Actually A shaped dresses that flow at the knee or even longer are your best bet. Especially for summer! You may accentuate your curves too if you like- don’t hide them honey, show them off. They are your curves and no one else’s!
      All the Best,
      Lorelei

  7. What are this year’s fall fashions that would look great on petite curvy girls?

    • Hi Giselle, Petite curvy- what I call “pint size beauties.”
I assume you are talking about what to wear to work? Dresses with flowy skirts worn with a tailored jacket. And as I wrote to Monica, longer skirts are pretty and they actually give you height. They add length, but you’ll have to wear some platforms or high heels to help that look take wings.

  8. Just wanted to say what an inspiration you are. Since I wrote you last year and have had sporadic contact through Facebook, I am doing much better.

  13. I kind of giggle when you talk about wardrobe. I have always been one of the guys and never felt comfortable in dresses or feminine clothing. If you were to look in my closet all you would find are blue jeans and concert t’s oh and a football jersey or two. If people didnt know this was my room, they would probably think a teenage boy lived in it, not a 36 year old woman.
